Description
This stunning 1920s Art Deco Silver Pierced Condiment Jar With Lid will be a sophisticated addition to your tablescape. The silverplate (EPNS) mustard / jelly jar consists of an intricately pierced or reticulated Art Deco style outer sleeve. The attached lid with handle has a small notch to allow a small serving spoon to rest inside while the lid was closed. The ridged glass insert has no chips or cracks and fits perfectly inside the holder.
The piece was made by Bernard Rice’s Sons Inc., a New York-based company that manufactured high-quality silverware from around 1899 to 1950. The company was active in this form from 1897 to 1950, and their Apollo line often featured popular early 20th-century styles like the Art Deco “Skyscraper” line (introduced in 1925) and Victorian patterns.
