Description
This stunning — and rare — pair of large French Iron and Glass Hanging Lanterns from the early 20th century exude charisma and personality, and they would look amazing by your front door, placed on brackets in a portico or hanging from a tree in your beautiful garden. These beautifully articulated antique lanterns are highly appealing with their decorative hanging hoops. piercings, buttons / dots, French curl / scroll and ball base finials. Functional and romantic, each 6-sided lantern has tapered glass panels, one of which is a door for interior candle access. Imagine this pair candlelit during a special ceremony.
- Dimensions: 10″W x 10″L x 32″H (including 2″ hanging hoop at top)
- Not wired
- Condition: Wear and tear consistent with age with beautiful original, rustic patinas. Although identical, one of the lanterns has a slightly lighter finish (perhaps it hasn’t weathered as much as the other one and/or was hanging in different locales causing this inconsistency; see pictures); regardless, when hung side by side, the pair is beautiful as seen in pics. Finally, one of the doors is missing half of the door handle’s latch; see pics.
