Who is Alfredo Barbini (1912-2007)?
Alfredo Barbini is an Italian glass artist who was one of Murano’s leading glassmakers in the 20th century. His contemporary, postwar style rewarded him with fame and inspired the next generation of Murano glassmakers. His work has been admired and exhibited globally at galleries, including the Latrobe Regional Gallery and the Le Stanze del Vetro. His most valuable pieces sell at auction for nearly $20,000. His work is exhibited at the Venice and American Studio Glass, Le Stanze del Vetro, in Venice, Italy.
