The colorful outside of the footed bowl displays unusual shapes and an intricate tan and peachy-rose pattern highlighted in gold leaf, on a deep brick red background. The inside of this bowl allows for a restful eye — the neutral white background has a lovely lattice gold leaf border around the top edge and a floral element in the center. The white bottom of this piece is marked, in Japanese.
